Book Review: A London Pub For Every Occasion
This book thoughtfully and creatively lists 161 pubs in 22 unique sections. Each section is tailored towards a different whim or fancy, from pubs for ‘when you need a place to hide’, places that welcome cats and dogs to party establishments and even destinations with their own special story.
The central London bias is weighted towards the ‘visitor’, however its ability to avoid the obvious tourist traps gives it an air of authenticity and credibility.
There is a very useful fold out map at the back which enables the reader to plan visits to a number of hostelries in the same evening.
We also love the design and illustrations and tongue-in-cheek tone.
Recommended.
