This fabulous 5 star hotel is right opposite the Royal Parks and Buckingham Palace. Down the road… museums, galleries, the chicest shops and Theatreland.

The hotel is spread over 10 floors with 195 rooms but you still get an exclusive and intimate boutique feel. The bespoke artwork and interior design has the imprint of award-winning British Designer, Martin Hulbert. There’s an elegant and playful Englishness interwoven throughout the hotel, with club chairs upholstered with rich velvets, shimmering pearl buttons alluding to Cockney Pearly Kings and Queens and numerous visual elements combined to express the hotel’s unique personality. At every turn, there’s something to attract your attention, for instance the centre of the hotel’s Tea room is used as an captivating display for a dress worn by British Fashion icon, Kate Moss.

An air of creativity permeates The Athenaeum and it’s no surprise to discover that A-listers Steven Spielberg, Michael Douglas, Sandra Bullock, Samuel L Jackson and Kim Kardashian choose to call the Athenaeum ‘their London Home’.

Most of the rooms have breathtaking views over the manicured greenery of Green Park, the majesty of Buckingham Palace and a number of London’s Iconic landmarks beyond.

Each room is designed with an English theme, with either blue or amber colour schemes. The rooms negotiate the fine balance between effortless contemporary and ‘home from home’ comfort. There are cute touches too, like the complimentary mini-bar and freezer stocked with Ben & Jerry’s Ice cream… yes, just like home.

The Athenaeum’s restaurant has been awarded a second rosette for its exceptional food and outstanding service. The food is glorious, whether poached, squeezed, pressed, steamed, grilled, wilted, roasted, battered and seared. Everything from The Athenaeum’s kitchen, from first thing in the morning to last at night, will melt on your tongue and have you eyeing the menu.

The food continues with the English theme, as much of the produce is sourced from local farms in Dorset and Norfolk. The Athenaeum also has its own honey farm in Regents Parks.

The hotels, afternoon tea scooped the Tea Guild’s prestigious award for “Top London Afternoon Tea 2012” – which is considered the ‘Oscars’ of the tea world.

If you fancy your afternoon tea in Green Park, a stone’s throw from the Hotel, you can ask the hotel to prepare a Picnic basket filled with sumptuous cakes, sandwiches and Champagne. You can also request bikes and even a kite to make your Picnic the complete English experience.

The Athenaeum’s Whisky Bar is the perfect place to meet before going out …. or coming back. And you’re not limited to whisky with a wide selection of Champagne or cocktails available and the hugely talented bar staff can create anything on or off the menu on request.

If you do like Whisky, then you’re in for a treat. With over 300 Whiskys and counting, The Athenaeum has the largest selection of blends in any hotel in London! The menu contains an extensive selection of Whiskys from the Scottish Highlands to Japan.

The Whisky Bar is surprisingly discreet and full of quiet corners. So whether you want to tuck yourself away with a paper or enjoy a romantic moment, this place has something for everyone.

If you fancy something a little more private, the hotel offers 18 luxury serviced apartments, with an exclusive townhouse feel. Many VIP’s and guests, use the townhouse apartments to host discreet business meetings and private dinners while working in London. Steven Spielberg even installed an editing suite in his apartment to work on his films including ET, First Encounters and Indiana Jones!

The uniqueness, innovation and creativity that has gone into every aspect of The Athenaeum truly makes it’s an exclusive and special place. The Athenaeum is English Luxury at its finest and its hands down one of the top hotels in London, if not the UK. Nothing is too much trouble.

This intimate family-owned 5 star hotel is the perfect place to unwind and make yourself at home.
